Maker Exchange is a restaurant and bar, coffee shop, private events space and shoppable Curio of ever-changing maker work. Robin Easter Design was hired by Rockbridge to consult and coordinate with the Knoxville community to shape the concept of a space that would serve the local community as well as visitors to the adjacent hotels. We named the space, Maker Exchange, and represented the concept of “collection” through the branding with varying textures, colors and letterforms. The mashup of custom-made letters in the logo intentionally “exchange”. We approached murals and signage as works of art, bringing on various makers to bring it to life. In addition we curated all of the permanent art and much of the handmade furniture.

“Robin Easter Design took our vision for a destination that celebrates local artists and makers and brought it to life. Their connections in the community and ability to bring the local maker community and arts organizations together along with their extraordinarily creative approach to our concept far exceeded our expectations.”
