High Ground Park

High Ground Park is positioned on the remains of the earthen Fort Higley. This series of ten interpretive signs along the trail tells the story of the Civil War in Knoxville and explains the site’s features and Union’s defense here. Every detail was influenced by Civil War materials down to the hand-forged sign frames, inspired by artifacts and metalworking of the time.
